Just before 1.30pm yesterday Honda Motorbike collided with a Suzuki Motorbike on the Pacific Highway at Bar Point, about 4.3 kilometres north of Cheero Point Road.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to assist in their investigation.
It is understood the Honda crossed to the wrong side of the road while attempting to negotiate a left-hand bend, colliding with the Suzuki and its rider.
The 61yo Suzuki rider is in a serious but stable condition after he suffered internal injuries and fractures and was airlifted to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.
The 26-year-old Honda rider was not injured.He submitted to a breath test, which returned a negative result.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
