Motorists travelling South after the long weekend came to a stop at Lake Macquarie on the M1 Pacific Motorway earlier today.
The delay began at Cooranbong and continued all the way to Tuggerah in the South.
A 3:50pm accident at Mt Colah closed 1 of 3 Southbound lanes, Queues reached 8km even after the incident was cleared, vehicles were STOPPED and queued between Cowan and Wahroonga. Motorists were advised to delay their journey.
Delays between Raymond Terrace and Beresfield caused queues totaling 7kms and delays peaked at 30 mins for vehicles travelling between the A1 Pacific Highway at Raymond Terrace and the M1 Pacific Motorway at Beresfield.
The Pacific Motorway has returned to normal, all delays an incidents are now clear. Motorists who delayed travel can now resume.
