Man pinned in his vehicle by his arms last night


Man pinned in his vehicle after it left the M1.

Last night, around 1km south of the Kuring-gai Chase Rd Exit (Big Dipper) a Toyota Hiace van left the road and hit a guard rail.

Emergency services closed the motorway Northbound traffic was diverted via the B83 through Hornsby to bypass the closure and rejoin the motorway.

The man was pinned in his vehicle by his arms and NSW Fire and rescue officers worked for 45 minutes to free the man while he was cared for by Ambulance paramedics and a CareFlight trauma specialist.

He was transported by Ambulance to the Royal North Shore Hospital and he is now in a stable condition.

Witnesses are asked to phone Hornsby Police on 02 9476 9799 as the NSW Police Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the cause of the accident.
