Truck threatened by replica firearm on M1

Five men have been arrested after a truck was threatened by a replica firearm on the M1 Pacific Motorway (F3) at Ourimbah early Tuesday morning.

Police from the Brisbane Water LAC say a Mercedes-Benz sedan and Nissan Navara ute pulled alongside the truck in the Northbound carriageway at Ourimbah just before 2am, Police were called and the vehicles were stopped nearby.

Police will allege a replica firearm and substances believed to be ICE and ecstasy were seized when the utility was searched, the man in the truck were not injured.

The men, 31, 34 and 36, were arrested from the Nissan along with two more from the Mercedes, aged 30 and 46.

The five men were taken to Gosford Police Station and were charged.

The driver of the ute, 33, from Parramatta, was charged with a number of offences including supplying a prohibited drug, aggravated assault, stalking and intimidation, reckless driving. The driver of the sedan, a 30-year-old man from Lamington, WA, faces similar charges.

A 31-year-old man from Darlinghurst, a 36-year-old man from Marulan, and a 46-year-old man from Kingsgrove also face a string of charges relating to assault, stalking and intimidation, and drugs.

All men were refused bail, to appear at Gosford Local Court.
