If you are driving on the M1 to Sydney, there are road closures in the SYDNEY CBD, CIRCULAR QUAY, THE ROCKS roads north of Goulburn St Tuesday 31 December. Use public transport. Check signage. From 6pm, buses in the city will operate from temporary terminals at Hyde Park, Town Hall and Wynyard only. Plan your trip at transportnsw.info. Road closures, clearways and restricted access will be in place as more than 1 million people celebrate New Year’s Eve along the Sydney Harbour Foreshore and various vantage points. The city is no place for cars on NYE with major roads closing from 2pm and the majority of the city closed by 7pm. Further closures will be in place from 11pm to help the large crowds move around after the midnight fireworks. Most roads remain closed until 4am on New Year’s Day.
