Changed overnight traffic conditions on M1 Motorway between Newcastle and Berowra

Motorists are advised of changed overnight traffic conditions from next week on the M1 Motorway between the Newcastle and Berowra exits to carry out essential bridge maintenance.

To minimise impact to motorists, work starting on Tuesday 24 September will be carried out overnight from 7pm to 5am on Mondays to Thursdays and is expected to be complete by mid-October, weather permitting.

Southbound and northbound fast lanes on the M1 will be closed during this work and will move from bridge to bridge during this time. In some sections, varying and multiple lanes may need to be closed for the safety of workers and motorists.

Over Size Over Mass (OSOM) vehicles will be accommodated during the works. OSOM vehicles can make contact by radioing UHF channel 32 upon approach.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
